Discs of delicious maamoul with fine walnuts prepared by hand with care in the home of our professional chef.
Walnut maamoul is a type of sweet that is famous in the Middle East, specifically in the Gulf region and the Levant. This dessert is round or oval in shape and has a delicious filling of chopped walnuts.
The maamoul base consists of a mixture of flour, ghee (or butter), sugar and cardamom powder. For the filling, it usually consists of chopped walnuts with sugar and cinnamon. Some raisins or other nuts may also be added to it.
Walnut maamoul is prepared by mixing the ingredients of the base and balling it into small balls. After that, a piece of dough is brought in and emptied slightly in the middle to form a place for the filling. The filling is placed inside the dough and closed well, then it is formed in a circular or oval shape. Place the maamoul on a tray lined with butter paper and bake in a medium heat oven until golden.
After the maamoul has cooled down, it can be eaten with a cup of tea or Arabic coffee. Maamoul is considered a popular and delicious choice, especially on occasions and celebrations such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
